Her Story Was Buried. It's Time We Dug It Back Up.
For the first few centuries of Christianity, Mary Magdalene wasn't a footnote — she was a central figure. A leader. A teacher who continued to priestess for decades after the crucifixion.
Then, in 591 AD, Pope Gregory the Great — let's be honest, Pope Gregory the Worst — delivered a homily branding her a prostitute. No scripture said it. He said it.
And for the next 1,500 years, the Church ran with it, slandering her, shrinking her, writing her out of her own leadership.
Meanwhile — and this is the part that always gets me — popes, bishops, and kings quietly made pilgrimages to her cave in Southern France. Even as her name was being dragged in public, the powerful still went looking for her in private.
It wasn't until the 1960s that the Church began to reverse its position. And it wasn't until 2016 that she was finally given her own feast day: July 22nd.
Sit with that for a second. It is 2026. We are barely a decade into Mary Magdalene being officially, formally recognized. Her rehabilitation is younger than the iPhone.
And yet over the past decade the amount of women who have been called to work with her has grown exponentially.
My Journey With Her
I grew up Catholic. So when I say I am fascinated by Mary Magdalene, I mean it in my bones. I spent the better part of my life being taught that she was a prostitute - despite the fact that the Church has reversed it’s position on her, I was still taught the slander.
Then in 2016 I read a book where they stated that Mary Magdalene was not a fallen woman, but a priestess, and in fact she was a Priestess of the lineage of Isis aka a Pleasure Priestess. It was like time stood still and I was healing backwards and forwards through time.
She was not what I had been taught and in fact she ws devoted to and found holiness in all of the things I was taught to believe were sinful.
She has been the key presence for my deconstruction and healing of religious conditioning. She has been my guide to reclaiming my own spiritual leadership and Sovereign Feminine Power.
So many of the information out there will focus on her Gospel which is amazing and a must read, and a large section of the content focuses on her as the “beloved” which I believe but what I am continually drawn to, what I am most interested in is her as
The Pleasure Priestess.

I believe — and this may be controversial — that the majority of the spiritual teachings attributed to Jesus were Sacred Feminine wisdom that came through Mary Magdalene. Wisdom that got absorbed, rebranded, and stripped of the body, the pleasure, the priestess at its root. Because if we are being honest, it would have been easier for these teachings to be accepted if they came from a man…..Rome was a very patriarchal empire.
But it is time to give her back, the Spiritual Authority and Spiritual Superiority that she deserves.
